Why choose me as your coach and mentor?

I broke into pre-sales from a non-traditional background in Archaeology.

I transitioned into line management before realising my true passion lay on the individual contributor track.

I accelerated through that track to reach the level of Distinguished Solutions Engineer.

I did all this at industry-leading companies like Slack, Salesforce, and Glean.

I worked with a career coach to achieve these goals, and now I coach others to do the same.

FAQs

1 / Which career moves is the program for?

The program is designed to support a wide range of career moves. Some of the most common are:

  • In-line promotions (e.g. Senior to Lead Solutions Engineer)

  • Lateral moves (e.g. Demo Engineer to Solutions Engineer)

  • Crafting new roles (e.g. the first Field CTO role)

  • Applying for one or more roles externally

  • Career transitions (e.g. Consultant to Solutions Engineer)

2 / Can I change the timeframe?

Yes. I suggest 3 months (rather than 6, 9 or 12) as I believe it's helpful to maintain momentum, but I fully appreciate that people move at different speeds and there are also dependencies to consider (e.g. the timing of performance review cycles or the availability of external roles).

3 / Can I change the modules?

Yes. The program is flexible and tailored to your specific goals. While the modules are designed to build on one another for maximum impact, we can adjust the focus based on your situation. If you only need support in one specific area, a one-off session might be a better fit. We can discuss the best path for you during a free consultation.

4 / Is the program coaching or mentoring?

It's a blend of both. While traditional coaching is strictly "non-directive", I believe you shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel. I act as a mentor when you need specific industry expertise and a 'how-to' guide. I act as a coach when you need a partner to ask the right questions—helping you tap into your own intuition and arrive at the outcomes that are right for you.

5 / Can I cover the costs using my professional development stipend?

Yes, in many cases. If you have a professional development stipend, please check your company’s specific requirements. I am happy to provide any necessary documentation, such as a program outline or tailored invoices, to ensure the program meets your organisation's criteria for reimbursement.
